This exhibition focuses on the rise of a group of artists-come-naturists, religious dissenters, and political rebels active in German-speaking Europe all of whom were for awhile barefoot prophets of a kind in the first decades of the 20th century.
In his opposition to established canons of behavior, thought, and labor in post-1945 German-speaking Europe, in his little attention to reigning art-world norms and thorough going concern with Zen philosophy Hundertwasser can be correlated with these artist-Gurus of the early 20th century.
